PLH design was established in 1992 as a division of PLH architects in Copenhagen, Denmark. PLH design has developed lighting, office furniture, signage systems, and sanitary fixtures, as well as road and highway equipment. Products are developed in response to
general building sector demands, with a view to wide expansion to the professional and private markets.
The PLH handle was designed in 2003 in response to the need for a simple, organic form with tactile appeal. The handle has a comfortable grip with a natural indentation/thumb support. The thumb turn was designed to coordinate with the handle and indicates by its position whether or not the door is locked. Complementary handles and hardware for the series are continually under development.
